It has been one year since we lost one the best journalists in the sports world. When Stuart Scott was diagnosed with cancer in 2007, he didn’t let that stop him from continuing his passion for reporting sports news and proving why he was one of the coolest people to watch on TV. Though his battle was ongoing, Scott decided that he didn’t want this cancer to take over his life; instead, he wanted to live his life to the fullest. In his heroic acceptance speech for the Jimmy V Perseverance Award at the 2014 ESPY Awards, Scott gave one of the best quotes of the night stating,
When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.
Stuart Scott definitely had a reason for living, especially with his two loving daughters, Taelor (20) and Sydni (16) by his side.
To celebrate and remember their father, Taelor and Sydni released a video tribute entitled, “#dearstuartscott” in remembrance of the type of person their father was and showed the world how much he was loved. Grab some tissues and check out the emotional video below.
R.I.P. to one of my favorite sports journalists, Stuart Scott. BOO-YAH!
