Natalie Cole, the Grammy award-winning and maker of classic hits, This Will Be (An Everlasting Love), Inseparable, and Our Love, and also the daughter of the legendary Jazz vocalist, Nat King Cole has passed away at the age of 65.
Throughout her career, Cole has battled Hepatitis C and unfortunately kidney failure, but that didn’t stop her from living her dream and following her father’s footsteps in becoming one of the most loved vocalists in Jazz/Soul music.
In a statement from an article from the AP:
Cole died Thursday evening at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles due to complications from ongoing health issues, her family said in a statement.
“Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived … with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved Mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever,” read the statement from her son Robert Yancy and sisters Timolin and Casey Cole.
Not how I expected to bring in the New Year. Take a look at some of my favorite songs by Natalie Cole.
Rest in peace, Natalie Cole!
